Als een hond mag dan ook

Als een hond mag, dan ook kinderen. Onder dat mom hebben wij vandaag met zijn vieren op de golfbaan gelopen. De noren zijn in veel opzichten relaxed. Het is heel gewoon om je hond mee te nemen op de golfbaan. Toen Cor dat zag, bedacht hij dat zeker ook kinderen mee mogen. En inderdaad niemand hield ons tegen. We hadden wel bekijks, maar positief, net als de opmerkingen als we mensen tegenkwamen. Nou is het ook zo dat Lars en Floor zich heel netjes hebben gedragen. Ze hielpen goed mee met ballen zoeken, om de beurt de vlag eruithalen en weer terugzetten, en vasthouden van markers en tees. Ze vonden het erg leuk totdat ze na 2 uur moe waren. Het is voor herhaling vatbaar. Op deze manier kunnen we golf als familie te spelen ipv individueel naar de baan gaan.
Het was trouwens uitermate lekker weer , 18 graden en een strak blauwe lucht en zonnetje erbij. We konden prima in trui spelen. Na het golfen zijn we naar het dierenpark gegaan. We waren niet de enige met dat idee. Het was lastig om een parkeerplek te vinden. In het park was ieder zonnig plekje bezet met Noren in t-shirt en hun kroost. Het was echt supergezellig. Iedereen was aan het picknicken met zelf meegebrachte etenswaar en drinken. Dat is hier heel gewoon, omdat eten (kopen) in cafe/restaurant behoorlijk duur is. En ik moet zeggen het heeft ook iets gezelligs om overal neer te kunnen strijken, omdat je de picknick mand/rugtas toch bij je hebt.
Vandaag was het ook nog eens windstil. Dat maakte dat we de rest van de middag heel aangenaam in de tuin hebben doorgebracht. Gister hebben we de bbq ingewijd, en later onder de terraswarmer al lezend van de mooie luchten genoten. Vandaag was het zo aangenaam dat Cor de ligstoelen tevoorschijn heeft gehaald en we buiten hebben gegeten. Heerlijk zo half april. Nu hopen dat het deze lente/zomer nog vaker kan. De Noren waarschuwen ons allemaal: Geniet ervan zodra / zolang je kan, want de zomer is zo weer over. Gelukkig is de komende weer het weer nog hetzelfde als dit weekend.
PS Sla en broccoli komen als boven. Kennelijk hebben we het zaaien goed gedaan.

“If a dog is allowed, then also children,” is what we used as reasoning today when we took Lars and Floor with us to play golf. The Norwegians are very relaxed in many aspects. It is very common to take your dog on the golf course. When Cor noticed this, he thought it must be no problem to take kids along. And indeed, nobody stopped us this morning. A lot of people looked at us, but in a positive manner, similar to the positive remarks we got from the people we passed. I guess it helped that Lars and Floor behaved very nicely. They helped finding the balls, lifting and returning the flags in turns, and safeguarding our tees, and markers. They liked it a lot. We will certainly repeat this exercise. It is nice to experience golf in this manner as a family rather than going to the course individually.
The weather was absolutely brilliant: clear blue skies with bright a sun and some 18 degrees. We played in our sweaters. After the golf we went to the zoo. We were not the only ones with this bright idea. It was a bit tricky finding a parking spot. Inside all the sunny spots were filled with Norwegians in t-shirt with their children. It was a very nice atmosphere. Everyone was pick nicking; it is a tradition here to bring your food from home, as food in the restaurants and cafes is rather expensive. And I must say, it gives a special flavor to it that you can decide to sit and eat wherever you like as you have brought all you need with you.
Today there was also no wind. As a result we spent the rest of the afternoon in a warm garden. Yesterday we used the bbq for the first time, followed by some reading and enjoying the beautiful skies (warmed by a heater). Today the weather made Cor take out the comfortable day beds and we even had dinner outside. It was lovely. Let’s hope this spring and summer will give us some more of it. The Norwegians are already warning us to enjoy it as soon as we can / while it lasts, as the summer can be over very quickly. Luckily the summer is yet to come and the rest of the week the weather will be similar to this weekend.
PS The lettuce and broccoli have sprouted. Apparently we have green fingers.
